Height 19.8 cm, mouth diameter 13.8 cm, bottom diameter 20.2 cm
This is a large, sturdy mizusashi, the upper part of which looks as if it could be a yudori-kettle. It has a large ear on both sides and a stepped shoulder. The body is broad and swollen, and the bottom is probably flat. The clay skin is soft and tight, but looking at many pieces, it seems that clay with such a soft and tight skin is often found in old works. This piece was probably made between the end of the Muromachi period and the Tensho period. Compared to the water jar owned by Shao’o, this piece seems to have a stronger Momoyama style, but it is probably an early example of this type of work.
