Height 29.2 cm, mouth diameter 10.7 cm, bottom diameter 12.9-13.6 cm
The body is strongly pressed on three sides to form vertical stripes, and the hem of the body is covered with horizontal spatula carving. The mouth, which is open to a truncated shape, is decorated with eight “chuori” (grinding) marks. The burnished surface is common to works from the late Muromachi period, and it is thought to belong to an old work of this type of vase. The bottom is marked with a comb-shaped kiln mark. The entire piece is fired to a dark brown color and lacks scenery. A similar piece is in the collection of the Nezu Museum.
