Height 34.0 cm, mouth diameter 30.5 cm, body diameter 32.6 cm, bottom diameter 17.5 cm
These are typical examples of jars. The Hidasuki is also a very colorful piece. This type of jar with a wide mouth has been widely produced since the late Muromachi period (1333-1573), and large jars such as Niseki-iri (two stone pots) have been produced. Today, these jars are used as water jars, but they were probably made as miscellaneous utensils for storing sake. The body is attached to a cord, and ring-shaped ears are attached to the left and right sides of the body. The kiln mark “Ryo” is carved in spatula on the bottom.
