Height 19.1 cm, mouth diameter 18.1 cm, bottom diameter 14.0 cm
This is a so-called “jumochi-shaped” water jar, and is one of the most representative examples of Iga ware water jars along with the pouch-shaped ones. The rounded shoulder is covered with two spatula lines, and it appears to have had six small grids around the mouth, but only one of these was lost during firing and remains. The body is covered with ash glaze on one side and dark green beadlo glaze around the base, while the rest of the body is reddish brown. Since a water jar of this shape was excavated from the kiln site in Iga-Ueno Castle, it is assumed to have been made in the Tsutsui period. It is a water jar with a solid and heavy feeling. It was handed down to the Konoike family.
