This thin, onioke-style vessel can be used as a thin water jar, but it may also have been used as a flower vase, as there are marks on the back of the vessel that indicate that it was filled with a hole made by a kinzuke (a small wooden bowl). The clay surface is slightly hard and reddish in color.
