Height 25.8 cm, mouth diameter 11.5 cm, bottom diameter 13.8-14.5 cm
The back of this vase is engraved with the words “Nagaroku hachinen” in thick, simple spatula carving. The zanguri-style cord-shaped form of this piece is a clear indication of the mood of the period, and is not found anywhere else in Tamba ware from the late Muromachi period (1333-1573). The glaze is lightly applied from the mouth to the base, and the clay skin is dark brown. The front surface is decorated with a spatula design. This is the oldest Tamba ware flower vase and was probably donated to a temple. The back of the vase is decorated with an iron decoration.
