Hyogo Prefectural Ceramic Museum
This piece is estimated to have been made at the end of the Momoyama period (1573-1600). The body is decorated with a fine comb-like scratch pattern, and the natural glaze is thickly applied from the mouth to the hem, forming a beautiful scene. There is a ring-shaped mark on the bottom, and two spots on the body where it has been stuck together. A mark resembling a “ni” (ニ) kiln mark can be seen on the underside of the sleeve around the shoulder. It is one of the superior pieces among Tamba ware tokutari.
