Height 11.6 cm, mouth diameter 46.6 cm, bottom diameter 17.3 cm
This is a large bowl with a sword-shaped mouth, but the overall shape is lighter and the base is different from earlier large underglaze blue and white bowls.
It is probably a late piece.
However, the design of a single squirrel amongst wild grapes on the prospective surface is uniquely vivid for a large bowl of this type, and the brushwork is soft and spontaneous.
The reverse side is decorated with flying cloud patterns on three sides and the inscription “Daimei” written in underglaze blue inside the base.
