Height 20.6 cm, mouth diameter 33.9 cm, bottom diameter 16.4 cm
This is a large, wide-mouthed water jar with a rimmed outer mouth in the style of a flower, around the bottom of which is painted a unique design of arabesque patterns on lotus petals, and cloud arabesque patterns around the inside of the mouth.
The body is decorated with a series of yusui patterns, including a scene of two large figures on a bridge and two sailing boats in a distant valley, all of which are deeply elegant and are among the finest of all Ko-Imari landscape paintings.
The white glaze over the entire surface is softly fired and finely pierced, and the inside and outside of the bowl is covered with a mottled pattern in a light red color, which is called “Gohon”, making the texture of the underglaze blue painting much softer.
The base is low and the mouth is oval-shaped and distorted.
There are few examples of such an excellent water jar.
