Tokyo National Museum
The body has windows on three sides and is decorated on each side with images of basho (Japanese banana) and plum blossoms on taiko-seki (stone).
The neck is covered with serrated leaf patterns, and the shoulders are filled with a design of flying phoenixes and clouds, as well as a fine tree-leaf pattern.
The surface of the base is somewhat rough, with flaws on the surface of the lees, but the design is sharply depicted, making this an excellent example of this type of jar with a marked influence of Nanjing red glaze.
