The shape of this vessel is similar to that of an old tsuke suizashi, and it is clearly modeled after a late Ming dynasty tsuke suizashi. However, if this type of Ming-period Tenkei suizashi was ordered from Japan, the shape of the container was based on the taste of tea masters in the early Edo period. The flat mouth is decorated with nine “fuku” characters, and the body is decorated with willow trees on two sides. The depiction and execution are similar to those of kozenzuke, and the entire interior is glazed. It is probably made between the Kan’ei and Meireki periods.
