This is a magnificent bowl in the shape of a twenty-petaled chrysanthemum flower, with the entire surface filled with a chrysanthemum design, in a totally Japanese style. The chrysanthemum design is also expressed on the prospective view, and a chrysanthemum design in white is also expressed on the side. The inside of each petal has various ground patterns which are used in Ko-Imari. The base is covered with a comb pattern in underglaze blue, and three eye marks remain on the base. It is one of the most splendid large works among the Imari type works.
