 This bowl has a unique Imari shape, with the mouth curved at the edge and the rim standing up low. The inside of the circular window is decorated with a leaf-like pattern and a Chinese lion in underglaze blue, surrounded by a wink-and-nod style pattern, while the inside is decorated on three sides with a Chinese flower design on a red ground within a frame and a circle design in between. The outside has a flying phoenix design on two sides with a kylin design in underglaze blue between the phoenixes. The inscription “Made in the year of the dawn of Manryaku” is inscribed within a double circle on the inner side of the stand.
