Large wide-mouthed jars decorated with comb-shaped wavy patterns are usually mounted on a high cup-shaped stand, but on rare occasions, jars with pedestals like this one were produced. The large trumpet-shaped neck indicates that it was made in the first half of the 6th century, which is consistent with the age of other vessels excavated from this burial mound. The foot is low, but it is of an old form with a triangular openwork and tiers.
