This is an excellent example of a seven-sun dish in the old Nabeshima style. The six jyokuri (watermelon) designs on the front are decorated with a lustrous coloring and the entire dish is decorated in a deep coloring. The back is covered with an ancient style peony arabesque design, and the base is a comb-shaped base. It is probably from the late Minamikawawara period or the early Ogawachi domain kiln.
