The shape of each dish is flat and shallowly raised in the old Nabeshima style, but the inscriptions on the reverse side show a typical Okawachi Clan kiln design of six cloisonne treasures tied together. The red color of the tachibana fruit and nanten leaves is a deep jiaogao color, a color tone not seen in other Nabeshima wares, and the addition of gold coloring adds a touch of color to this dish. The five plates with the tachibana design in overglaze enamels have been handed down to the present, and are inscribed “Okawachi Nishiki-Te Dish” on the lid of the old box.
