Height 5.4 cm, mouth diameter 9.8 cm, base diameter 10.8 cm, Tokyo National Museum
This is a representative example of a seven-sun underglaze blue plate. The extremely unique design depicts a weir seen from the front. This is the first time such a design has been seen on a plate. The design on the reverse side is a lotus-like pattern with branches on three sides, and it is an example of the style that shows the old status of the Okawachi domain’s kilns. The back is decorated with a three-sided design of oriented branches in the manner of magnolias.
