The shape of this vase is modeled after a Kinuta celadon vase with phoenix ears, but the rounded base and phoenix ears are somewhat atypical.
The rounded loops and phoenix ears are somewhat unusual. This is a rare example of beautiful glazed celadon from the Okawachi domain kilns. The base of the bowl is made of guttate.
