Figure OT shishi, celadon glaze. and brown glaze reserved area

Height 12.1cm, 295 underglaze iron glaze lions, height 13.1cm
This is a pair of porcelain lions. Porcelain lions are often seen in Kakiemon and other styles, but are rare in Nabeshima. The body is coated with rust glaze, and the eyebrows and wig are dyed in celadon for the “a” shape and in dark lapis lazuli for the “yun” shape. Although small in size, this is a very powerful piece, and is probably one of the oldest Nabeshima wares.
