This is a rare large jar for Nabeshima, as well as the “Large Jar with Jyoha Design” shown in Figure 59. Because of the large size of this work, the mouth is still distorted. The fact that the mouth is exposed suggests that this jar was once accompanied by a lid, and was probably made as an agarwood jar. The entire surface is decorated with a lively Houjyu design.
