This water jar for the tea ceremony is in the shape of a gourd with vertical stripes in six directions on both the lid and body. The lid is decorated with a rat gong, and the body and lid are decorated with a lively gourd design similar to the vegetable zuke design on a seven-sided dish. Although some people consider this to be Hirado ware, the porcelain on the base is clearly from the Okawachi domain kiln.
