This is a masterpiece that, together with the choshi (sake bottle) with a lion and peony design, is considered to be one of the twin masterpieces of Ko-kutani style color-painted choshi (sake bottle). The bottom of the stroked shoulder is rounded, and low legs are attached to the three sides of the bottom.
The body is decorated on three sides with rather large jyukuri-shaped windows with yellow frames. The inside of one side is decorated with a plum tree and small birds in red, the other with chrysanthemums, the back with a jyukuri design in red, and the left and right sides of the spout are decorated with rounded patterns. The color scheme of white on green, yellow, purple, red, and blue is very attractive. The cover also has a design of a jyukuri (tree gourd).
