The inner surface is covered with a cloudy white glaze, while the outer surface is partially covered with a pouring glaze. The inside of the stand is stamped with the Sowa seal, and the tatami mat is one-sheen. On the lid of the inner box, the inscription “Ninna-ji kokite-mochi omuro kakekiri” is written in a style similar to that of Munewa. It is likely that this type of tea bowl was called “Kure ‘kokitechabowl’ of Ninna-ji Temple” in those days. It also seems that this type of glazed bowl was called “kakekiri.
