This vase has a slightly flattened body, but the top surface is very bulky, and the shape of the orifice and the two-tiered mouth rim indicate that it does not date from the early 7th century. The lower half of the body was adjusted by shaving. The clay is slightly sandy, and the firing is very good, with a thick layer of dark green natural glaze on the upper surface. This type of ware is common in Mino and is thought to have been produced in Mino.
