 This piece is similar to an aerial Shigaraki ware, and is made in the hand-fabricated style. The mouth is high and low, the base is rounded, and the base is small and tight. The mouth and the base of the body are covered with ash glaze, while the rest of the body shows the clay skin of a fired vessel. On the front of the lid of the inner box, there is an inscription “Koa Watayaki” and on the back of the lid, “This tea bowl is from the estate of Konoike Dojyo, owned by Ima Ipponsai, Boshu-no-Haru, Shosen-an.
