On the lid of the box it says “Yugen-sama-sei Kouchi Kyusu Awatagi Yonezo”.
This is also a fine piece of purple Koji teapot, with a flying phoenix design on the lid and a peony-like pattern on the body, covered in yellow and green overglaze enamels, and the “Komei” mark stamped on the underside of the lid. The shape of the vessel is also well-balanced and of excellent workmanship.
