Mokubei: teapot, brown glaze

These two teapots were made in the same style, but one has a brown glaze and the other has a celadon glaze, and both have the “Mokumai” mark stamped on the underside of the lid. On the lid of the box, the following is written: “Two pairs of teapots, modeled on the teapots of the Jingzhou and Yuezhou kilns, made of sand and clay, with a purple glaze, made in the 12th year of the Bunsei era (1829), on the day of the rainstorm, when the clouds broke, the color of this plate was made.
