Mokubei: teapot with chrysanthemum and stream design,

This was also made in a pair, and on the inside of the lid of the inner box, Umeitsu wrote the following: “I have received a painting of a landscape from Mr. Kibai, and in return I have given him a tea pot. This teapot is unique in that it has three legs on the bottom, shaped like a bell, and the lid and body are decorated with a chrysanthemum design. One has a brown glaze, and the other has a gray glaze, but the lid knob, mouth rim, spout and handle are covered in black glaze. It seems that the mark “Kikome” is stamped on the underside of the bottom, but it is covered in glaze, so it is not clear. This was formerly in the collection of the Fujita family.
