This is one of the representative works of early Sanage kiln ash glaze pottery. The sharply wheel-thrown molding of the neck and body is joined in three sections, and the beautiful use of color on the shoulder spout is sharp and vivid. The strongly stretched base is a faithful reproduction of a Samari jyobin. The front was covered with an ash glaze, which has almost completely peeled away, leaving a dark green glaze in places.
