Height: 8.2 cm, Mouth Diameter: 10.0 cm, Foot Diameter: 4.9 cm
This semi-cylindrical tea bowl features a rim that widens slightly from the waist to the mouth, with a gently undulating rim that curves inward; it is likely modeled after Chōjirō’s tea bowls. The foot is small, and the bowl’s construction resembles that of Ichin’s works, with a shallow hollow carved into the foot. The glaze covering the entire surface has a rough, skin-like texture on parts of the exterior, while the rest is well-fused and glossy. Additionally, the interior shows glaze defects, with large air bubbles remaining. It is accompanied by a box inscription by Kakukaku Saigen-so, a contemporary of So-nyu, reading “So-nyu Black Tea Bowl, Name: Eboshi (Seal),” and the outer box bears an authentication by Ryoryo Saigen.
