Earthenware bottles are not often seen in everyday vessels used for boiling tea or infusing medicines. Although people tend to think of Koseto only in terms of hard, medicated ceramics, it also produced a considerable amount of Hanawa and other miscellaneous ware. It is normal for such fire vessels to be fired slightly soft for functional reasons. This pottery was excavated from the Ubamatsu kiln near the middle of the 15th century, and it gives us a glimpse into the daily life of that period. It was randomly ground in a water-ground continuous molding process, and the folds are remarkable. It has a shoulder strap and a ring ear on the front and back, and it is also covered with a fire protection cover, which is similar to that found on earthenware. The surface of the vessel is covered with iron glaze.
