This is a rare example of a four-lobed jar with an outwardly turned oral part, a remarkably strong shoulder, and no base. It is wheel-formed and relatively thin. The ash glaze is brush-applied and has a single flavor with a thin oil layer. The thin, sharply formed ears also show the characteristics of early Yonomi wares. The base is made of a gray, rather rough clay, and the ash glaze is dark green in color after reduction firing.
