 This tea caddy is not yet standardized as a hayashi, but is an intermediate type of hayashi, similar to bun’en. The sharp shoulders and mouth are probably typical of hayashi.
It is made of grandmother’s clay, ground very thinly, and tightened with a single chink line at the waist. The iron glaze is a magnificent Kosedo glaze with black spots on a brownish-brown ground.
