 This is the most elegant of the many Tokoname sanjiki jars.
 The upright mouth and neck, the shoulders losing their tension, and the body becoming thinner are characteristic of the three-striped jars of the late Kamakura period. This piece was made of highly refractory white clay and molded into a relatively thin body. The three stripes on the body are thin and weak.
