This jar has a large, bulging body with an upright neck and a rounded outward-folding mouth rim. This type of mouth-built jar is not typical of Tokoname. The clay is highly refractory with a slight iron content, and is well fired, with a yellowish green natural glaze over the shoulder in the shape of a sesame sprinkling.
In view of this, it may have been made in Echizen.
