In the Kamakura period (1185-1333), the neck of this medium-sized jar became upright, and the outer rim of the jar had a slight rim band. The shoulders protrude widely, and the body shape changes to resemble that of an arithmetic sphere. Based on these characteristics, this jar was probably made in the first half of the 13th century.
