This large jar is characterized by its large, stout shoulder and small mouth and neck in comparison with the body. The base is made of coarse clay rich in sand, and the vessel was molded by rolling up the clay with a cord, and the entire surface of the vessel is marked with seals indicating that the joints were tightened by beating. The shoulder is covered with three parallel sunken lines made of half-cut bamboo tubes, connected by four vertical lines in alternating directions. It is a type of jar with carved design, a specialty of Atsumi, and is thought to have been made especially for sutra mounds. It is thought to have been made in the first half of the 12th century.
