This jar has been famous since ancient times. It is made of sandy clay with a slight iron content. The surface of the jar is struck with a striated tool similar to that used for Sue ware. The entire surface of the body is covered with a bright natural glaze, some of which has turned into a cobalt white glaze with straw ashes, giving the vessel a very impressive surface. The provenance of this jar is not yet known, but the base glaze tone suggests that it could have been made in the vicinity of the Omi area.
