 This is a round-shouldered jar with a trumpet-shaped neck and a mouth rim slightly close to the mouth. The clay is grayish-white in color and somewhat similar to Tokoname clay, but the mouth is not Tokoname-like in terms of its shape. The lower half of the body has been shaved and adjusted. The firing is very good, with a brownish-brown surface and a dark green ash glaze on the shoulder. The body has three parallel parallel sunken lines, similar to the three stripes on the four sides of the jar shown in Fig. 128. Judging from the shape, it dates from the early 12th century.
