Specialty. Raku ware tea bowl, black, by Chojiro. The body of this small cylindrical tea bowl has a part of the body that is bent, and the shape resembles a crow’s-bill, hence the name Kazaori. It is sturdy and powerful, and is generally made in the style of a Wabi-style tea bowl. It was originally owned by Rikyu and passed down to Sotan, and later to Yamada Souchon from Sotan. It was later passed on to Kihei Fuyuki in Edo, Saburobei Kagaya in Osaka, Kyubei Kawamura in Nagoya, and several others before joining the Ishiguro family in Kanazawa in 1896 (Meiji 29), and then to the Oka family in the same area.
