Kabon (flower tray)

A flowerpot. A bon-ren is placed under it. A tray is what is called a water basin. The flower basins made in the Chinese Song Dynasty Kun kilns are said to be the finest of their kind, and Westerners have spent millions or tens of millions of dollars on them. There are various shapes of water basins, such as round, Tang-style, and hexagonal, etc. The bottom of the tray is always numbered, so that the two can be matched according to the number. Recently, even the polished ones with broken legs and chipped mouths have become extremely rare and expensive. Other excellent vases include Kangxi (1661-17622) underglaze blue, Qianlong (1735-1935) wucai, Yongzheng (1722-35) tianqing xiaoban, xiaoban of various styles, xianqing gilt xiaoban of the Shinde Tang gold inscription, Yongzheng white porcelain daffodil vase, xianqing xiaoban, and xianhong xiaoqiao vases.
