This jar, with its short, wide, trumpet-shaped neck, is the most typical of the small jars of the late Kamakura period. It is well-fired and reddish brown in color, with a yellowish sesame-flecked natural glaze covering the shoulder. There is a three-jawed inscription on the shoulder.
