A porcelain factory in Arita, Hizen, organized in 1874 by Fukagawa Eizaemon, Tezuka Kamenosuke, Fukami Suminosuke, and Tsuji Katsuzo for the purpose of mass production of foreign exports, with Fukagawa as the president. After that, disagreements developed among the employees, and finally Fukagawa, Tezuka, and Tsuji, together with Chujiro Kawahara, established a separate porcelain company in 1879 (Meiji 12), establishing a factory in Kamikouhei. However, the business of Koransha continued to progress smoothly, and it is still the main factory for Arita porcelain today. (“History of Arita Porcelain Industry”)
