Translucent glaze

Refers to a glaze that is not transparent. It is caused by the separation of crystalline or amorphous solid components. There are many causes of translucency, but the main factors are the composition of the glaze, the presence of an excess of one component, the degree of burning, the rate of change in viscosity during dynamic heating and cooling of the firing rate during melting, the rate of cooling, reheating, and the volatility during melting.
