The Dai Nippon Kiln Association

The Kiln Manufacturers’ Association was founded on October 10, 1891 (Meiji 24) for the purpose of promoting the progress and development of the ceramic industry in Japan, and was enlarged and renamed the Dainippon Ceramic Association on June 29 of the following year. The association published four issues of the Journal of the Ceramic Association from December 1891, followed by the monthly publication of the Journal of the Dainippon Ceramic Association from September of the following year, as well as publishing books on ceramics, holding lectures, organizing national ceramic product promotion events, campaigning for the improvement of government facilities, and other various projects related to ceramics, all of which have contributed to the prosperity of the present-day ceramics industry. It is the world’s oldest academic organization related to the ceramic industry.
