Masterpiece. This is a tea caddy by Bunrin, made in China. Tamura is the name of the original owner, but it is unclear who he was. It is only speculated that it belonged to Tamura Sakyotayu, the founder of the Viscount Tamura family in the Meiji period. It seems to have passed through Tsuchiya Samon of Chiketanshu to Matsudaira Uenosuke. Later, it was passed down to Kawamura Den’ei, a member of the Edo Jyuninshu, and entered the Fujita Denzaburo family through Umakoshi Kyohei. (Taisho Meikikan)
