Originally located in Inuyama, Owari Province (Aichi Prefecture), it was passed down through the Kyoto tool dealer Taruya to the Osaka tool dealer Shoubei (a.k.a. Michikatsu, No. Houjuan), and then to the Kaga Matsuoka Tadayoshi family in the early Meiji Period. （In the early Meiji period, it was transferred to the Matsuoka Tadayoshi family of Kaga.)
