At first glance, this form, reminiscent of a Shigaraki large jar from the late Muromachi period, is one of the rarest examples of its kind in Echizen. The top of the upright mouth neck is folded back to form a ball-rimmed mouth, and the body is large and spherical. The body is large and spherical in shape. The brownish-brown body is covered with a thick layer of dark green natural glaze.
There is a kiln mark (I) on the shoulder. The production date may fall into the early Momoyama period.
