14th century
Height 19.2cm, mouth diameter 9.4cm, body diameter 17.4cm, bottom diameter 8.6cm
The top has a concave rim similar to that of a double-mouthed vessel. It is made of slightly coarse clay and rolled up with corded clay, and the bottom has marks of still thread cutting. It is well fired and grayish-black in color, with a natural glaze of white sesame powder on the shoulders. It has a two-tiered shoulder and a one-tiered body with a wavy comb pattern. This is an old type of small jar, possibly dating back to the end of the Kamakura period.
