Height 36.4 cm, mouth diameter 18.4 cm, body diameter 29.1 cm, bottom diameter 14.5 cm
This is one of a relatively small number of jar forms among Suzu ware. It has a slightly sloping body, but the shape of the neck of the mouth, which is shaped like a trumpet, suggests that it was made during the first half of the Kamakura period (1185-1333).
The lower half of the body was formed by rolling up the clay with a spatula used vertically to cut and shape the body. The upper half of the body is roughly shaped with a spatula. The entire surface of the shoulder is covered with a natural glaze of white sesame powder, but the firing was not very hot and the glaze is slightly oxidized.
